Organic animal foods healthy? We all know that factory farmed meat, milk and eggs are full of antibiotics, hormones and pesticide residues. Organic animal protein however, is still full of disease-causing saturated animal fat and cholesterol, as well as hormones which are naturally present in the animal. All dairy, including organic, is full of naturally occurring hormones, such as estrogen and progesterone, and growth factors including IGF-1, a known cancer promoter. Casein, a protein fraction found in all dairy products is also a cancer promoter and a known allergen. Animal products are a primary source of bacterial pathogens, including campylobacter, salmonella and E. coli, which are the leading cause of foodborne illnesses (food poisoning). Quite simply, a plant-based diet that is naturally low in carcinogens, pathogens, and disease-causing fat and cholesterol, but is naturally high in vitamins, minerals, fibre and disease-fighting antioxidants is the best medicine for promoting a healthy life.
